LAB-e-Digital Gastronomy Lab to host a gastronomic enterprise meeting

“San Sebastian Gastronomy Startup Weekend” offers entrepreneurs the chance to take ideas and projects related to gastronomy and innovation and turn them into business models with the aid of expert judges and mentors.

On the weekend of 21st to 23rd June, the Basque Culinary Center’s LABe-Digital Gastronomy Lab will be hosting the “San Sebastian Gastronomy Startup Weekend”, an event that offers entrepreneurs the chance to discover ways of transforming and projecting ideas related to gastronomy and innovation with the aid of expert judges and mentors. They will be able to work on new applications, platforms, devices, equipment and other innovative business models to meet some of the challenges in the sector in the production, distribution, transformation and consumption phases of the gastronomic environment.

The aim of this enterprise-centred event will be to create an open innovation ecosystem focused on sharing, learning, building and strengthening the community of entrepreneurs – and also having fun. The Startup Weekend in Donostia-San Sebastián, organised by Techstars, the global network to support entrepreneurs, will be open to participants in any sector who are innovative, creative foodies, including designers, engineers, chefs, managers and so on. Startup Weekends are run in over 140 countries around the world; this will be the first in San Sebastian, focusing on the gastronomy value chain.
